Same Day Dental Crowns and Bridges Los Angeles
Dental crowns are an important dental restoration used when a tooth has been extensively damaged. A crown covers the entire tooth structure, forming a new surface. Instead of the damaged tooth feeling the stress of bite pressure, the crown absorbs this force, protecting the tooth from further damage.
Restoring a tooth with a dental crown typically involves at least two visits to your dentist. At Los Angeles Dental Arts in Westchester, CA, we offer the convenience of single-visit restorations for maximum benefit.
The reason dental crown treatment is typically completed over two visits is that the first is devoted to the preparation of the tooth, and taking impressions. The impressions are what guide the design of the new dental crown. Most often, crowns and other restorations, such as inlays and onlays, are fabricated in a dental lab located away from the dental office. Los Angeles Dental Arts features an in-house lab, so we are able to complete a number of treatments in a fraction of the time. The restorations designed and fabricated in our office are made only by certified CEREC dental technicians (CDT) with years of experience. Crowns, inlays, and onlays, however, are not only made more convenient with CEREC technology, they are also very durable and last a very long time.
The difference between the CEREC restoration process and conventional crown treatment is more than just time, though time is one of the primary factors making this treatment so attractive. When inlays, onlays, and crowns are made using CEREC technology, the need for temporary crowns and messy impressions are eliminated.
Once a tooth is treated and all damaged tissues have been removed, we use innovative imaging that produces 3D images in specialized software where the new restoration is designed with great precision. A CEREC restoration is fully customized to the ideal color, shape, and fit to restore beauty and function to the smile. In about an hour, the new restoration is completed and evaluated for fit before it is bonded securely to the tooth. Upon leaving our office, the smile is fully restored and normal activities can be resumed with confidence.
Same day crowns, inlays, and onlays carry many benefits, both immediate and long-term.
